Despite their name and appearance somewhat resembling that of the American Turkey…These guys are actually closer related to the wattled brushturkey, Waigeo brushturkey, and malleefowl!

 

These guys are known to inhabit both rainforests and sclerophyll forests (< these forests are ones that can survive droughts!) Alongside this, drier scrubs and open areas. They live in both mountainous and lowland areas too...not to mention they can be found in human populated areas! These guys are just about everywhere, huh?
